Anteye Photography

I’m a photographer.

Nhlonipho Nduduzo Zondi, famously known for his street name: Anti-Dote and now for his photography cred: Ant-Eye, was born in the City of Choice, the capital of the Kingdom of the Zulus namely Pietermaritzburg. Coming from humble beginnings Nhlonipho grew up as any ordinary child with great hopes and dreams, life rightly taught him “too many people miss the silver lining looking for gold”. From being an ‘A’ student, to a graffiti artist, to a rapper/musician then wanting so much more he was forced to find the silver lining of his life.

Nhlonipho’s love affair with the lens started in 2014 as he would occasionally help out a friend with photoshoots. Moving away from creating artistry in art work and spitting bars he discovered another way he could use his artistic eye for, to create beautiful imagery through photography, lights, and motion and a lot of dedication. Nhlonipho was then faced with a hard decision of selling one of his few priced possessions, his cellphone, he had been using to shoot portraits with in order to get his very first DSLR camera. And from that very moment he never looked back…

In 2015 Ant-Eye was discovered by Bryce Dambuza of RGBC taking him from Pietermaritzburg and introducing him to a new world, the Warmest City in South Africa, Kwelikabhanana namely Durban. This is where he landed a number of his great work and was noted as one of the best photographers in KwaZulu Natal.

Doors swung open for Ant-Eye, working with big brands such as Hennessy, Belvedere, Glenmorange; Hendricks, Jameson, Sky Vodka, Heineken, Amstel, Snow Leopard… just naming a few. This further gave him recognition, beyond his imagination, by event organizers booking him for major events. Another opportunity presented itself to be a personal photographer of a number of well-established South African artists and actors. He has worked with the likes of Junior DeRocker, Ntando Duma, Ntokozo Dlamini, DJ Merlon, DJ Tira, Tipcee, Mampintsha, Babes Wodumo just to name a few.

Ant-Eye spread his wings shooting events for individual clients, corporates, businesses and government which led him to work with giants of the game such as RGBC, Gagasi FM, Durban Municipality, International Film Festival, The Essence Festival, KZN Fashion Council and a whole lot more.

Before he could believe his blessings and as Ant-Eye had persistently been making a mark on producing great quality work he was noticed by MTV’s PR Manager, Gabi Mbhele, who in turn introduced him to Viacom Africa. Nhlonipho says, “…My aim is to capture images that touch ones soul, and I also endeavor to be the best events photographer South Africa has ever seen.”
